ASM’s hardworking choir were busy bees again this year. Our choir started off the year with the opening school mass in St. Mary’s church, which got them warmed up for the year to come. The choir were then privileged to be asked to prepare a repertoire for St. Mary’s Credit Union’s 50th Anniversary celebrations in the Absolut Hotel. The Credit Union held a black tie ball as a celebration for their 50 year of service in the community and the girls wowed the audience with some beautiful choral pieces, instrumental ensemble music and solo performances. A great night was had by all!

For the second year in a row the girls were delighted to sing for the Bishop at a special mass for the sick, and indeed are always privileged to be asked to sing at masses and celebrations by the Bishop. The girls were also very busy at Christmas performing in the Crescent Shopping Centre where they raised an incredible amount for St. Vincent De Paul. They were joined by Limerick Tenor Eugene O’ Connor for a moving rendition of ‘Oh Holy Night’ and the girls had many fun-filled songs to get the crowd singing along, including songs from the film Frozen and other much loved Christmas classics. In February, some of the girls were busy performing in Limerick City Centre for the Pay it Forward initiative as part of the Festival of Kindness. The choir are currently preparing for the Sixth and Fourth Year Graduation masses at the end of the school year.
